The other night my husband and I were watching a movie called the Hitman’s bodyguard. It was a tale as old as time, where fate brings two people to work together who to begin with, don’t like the idea of being in the same room. Yet as the story progresses we see that they each have things to learn from one other.
In essence, the bodyguard was contracted to keep the renown and dangerous hitman alive and transport him across Europe so he could testify in a high-profile court case. Despite the danger of the job it is clear throughout the movie that the hitman is confident about who he is and what he does. When things go wrong he is able to laugh about it. He is present in the moment, free from worry about what may happen in the future and is seemingly able to enjoy his journey. At this point I was beginning to see universal law at work in the way the hitman lived his life.
In one scene I was watching him laugh. I don’t recall all the details perfectly but he was laughing at the bodyguard’s worries as if those rules didn’t apply to him. It seems like fairly typical behaviour of someone who lives outside the law and yet, in that moment, I felt a strong sense of identification with the hitman. He wasn’t going to invest in those projected worries for a second. Those rules didn’t apply to him. He operated outside of all that. But here is the thrilling thing – you don’t have to become a crime lord to feel that way. You can be the person that operates like that. You too can live above the status quo.
Definitely not in the sense that we should go around shooting people without remorse but when you understand the mental science taught here at Di Live, you may find yourself laughing inside because you no longer subscribe to the way of living that is happening around you. Life becomes an adventure rather than a risk assessment because you finally understand how to use your ultimate weapon – your mind. When you grasp the mental-science taught here, there is a confidence, a feeling that leaves you at ease. Laws will change arbitrarily as they always have but the laws of the universe are unambiguous truths that aren’t subject to time.
When you grasp the Laws, you don’t allow yourself to get wrapped up in worry. Some people talk about their dreams with lacklustre in passing but you actually aren’t joking when you talk about yours because you know how to manifest them and know that it will happen in life’s perfect timing. Not every decision you make is about finance because you no longer believe in limits but rather that we live in an abundant universe. Furthermore, you start to understand that there are many types of wealth and money is just one of them. You know that every thought you think is a seed sewn towards or away from your future. You become even more aware of the power of your words and choose them carefully. You show appreciation to those around you, because we are all in this together. And for the very same reason, you no longer flip someone off in traffic because you would rather not invest in that energy. So instead you start practicing sending them love because you know that people are just trying the best they know how.
As you start to remove you own limiting beliefs, you realise that not everyone is free from that prison, which is why perhaps if there was one leaf I would take out of a hitman’s book it would be, only share your next target with those who have your absolute trust. In the crime world, trust is crucial because you can’t have people blabbing about who is on the chopping block next. Assuming you aren’t a criminal, breaking this rule shouldn’t cost you your life, but you will open your dream up to a host of opinions and judgements that are cast thoughtlessly in your direction. Your dream, your vision and your goal are there for a reason but they won’t be shared by everyone. It is your treasure so protect it and nurture it like a child.
While we are drawing out life lessons from a criminal, I have caught myself pondering as to why crime as a genre seems to be such a big hit in the entertainment industry. Of course, there is a lot of sensationalism and gore. Personally, those are my least favourite parts. I think that what people, myself included find universally attractive, on either side of the law, is someone who knows what they want and are unapologetic in their pursuit of that goal. Live or die they wouldn’t be anywhere else. In that sense, people, whether they are conscious of it or not, are likely attracted to the intensity of watching someone pursue their goal to the nth degree. And in that sense, I’m not sure that the entertainment industry is all about escapism and fantasy because isn’t that what we all want for real? Don’t we all want a dream so worthwhile that we are committed to it with everything that we have?
Now, put those guns away, and go and call your mother.
